For the first 1–2 weeks after planting, this is exactly what should be happening. Most seeds (lettuce, basil, herbs) take 5–10 days to show their first green shoots. Keep checking the water level β€” fresh sponges drink quickly. No need to add nutrients yet; seeds carry their own food until first proper leaves. Photograph the pods so you can show pupils the change next week.
