One A3 master for all five schools. Each school’s pupils’ artwork fills the top, edge to edge; the programme branding, partner credits and QR sit locked into the bands below. A single field changes per school.
The one line that changes per school → Artwork by pupils at [ school name ]
The Canva template is the editable master — drop in your pupils’ artwork and school name, then export A3 at 300 dpi for print. The image above is a quick screen proof (~120 dpi).
Before you print
Check the artwork is the right quality
Blown up to A3, a small or fuzzy image looks blocky on the wall — and it won’t get sharper on the poster than it is on screen. Two minutes of checking saves a reprint.
Big enough? Aim for the longest side to be about 3,000 pixels or more (a phone photo at full quality is usually fine). Right-click → Properties / Get Info shows the pixel size.
Sharp at full size? Open the image at 100% (actual size). If it looks blurry, jagged or pixelated there, it’s too low-res to print.
Use the original. Don’t send it through WhatsApp or email first — those shrink the file. Pull the original photo or scan off the device.
Scan flat artwork if you can. A flatbed scan beats a phone photo for paintings and drawings.
Photographing it? Shoot straight-on, fill the frame, bright even light, no shadows, highest-quality setting — and don’t zoom.
Watch for Canva’s warning. If Canva flags the image as low resolution, swap it for a larger file before you export.
Quick rule of thumb: a normal phone photo (8 MP+) at full size prints crisply at A3. A screenshot, a messaged copy, or anything under ~1,500 px on the long side will look soft — replace it before committing.
